What is CBD?
Phytocannabinoids is one of the chemical compounds that come from the hemp plant. It is one of over 85 unique compounds found in hemp, known as cannabinoids. It can be extracted in a variety of methods and can be prepared in a powder form, or simply an oil or water base that is used to create tinctures, infused into baked goods or simply added into water or anything used or consumed in our everyday lives.

CBD, which can be either consumed (phytocannabinoids) or produced naturally by the body (endocannabinoid), are chemical compounds that interact with our bodies and our animal’s central regulatory system. Our dogs and cats, as well as humans can naturally produce its own endocannabinoids that bind to cannabinoid receptors in both the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. Phytocannabinoids are known to help to kick-start our central regulatory system. For more information about CBD, simply Google the word “Phytocannabinoids” or “cannabinoid” and a slough of information will be available for you to gain a better understanding on how CBD help our dogs and cats as well as humans.
How Does it Work on my Dog and Cat?
Our bodies manufacture its own cannabinoids, called endocannabinoids, to help support our regulatory system as well as our dogs and cats. This support system helps to keep our bodies in tune day to day, including: appetite, pain sensation, mood, memory, immune system functions, and inflammation control to name just a few of the many discovered benefits of recent studies of CBD.
CBD acts as a kick starter for these cannabinoids to keep the receptors working at optimal capacity and to help the functions of our dogs and cat’s central regulatory system.
